Soccer and Volleyball match held for the unity and harmony of locals".
16/08/01 (ROK Batt, UN PKF) Local soccer and volleyball match hosted by Republic of Korea Battalion was held successfully in the Lautem District from August 6 to 14.
1. Luro Team vs Lospalos Team A in women volleyball finals.
Lospalos Team A is the winner of this match. (C) ROK Batt
Some 1,000 people of 38 teams, age above 18, from each DESA of Lautem District, participated.
2. Lospalos Team A vs Illiomar Team in men soccer finals Illiomar
Team is the winner of this match. (C) ROK Batt
Until August 10, eliminating matches was held in order to choose DESA representative teams.

Six teams had qualifying matches after two tough days starting August 13 and the matches was well played under international tournament rules at Lospalos Field.

The final game was held on August 14 with Illiomar capturing the soccer title and Luro proudly took the title as volleyball champion. The two winning teams were awarded with uniforms, jarkets, soccer shoes, cosmetics and other great prizes.

Col. Lee, commander of ROK Batt and manager of awarding ceremony, gave a congratulatory address by saying, "I was very impressed by those who did their best. I could feel
